Ya'alon: Israel will deliver 'very hard hit' if Hamas seeks new confrontation

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on Monday warned Hamas against carrying out terrorist operations against Israel, after it was revealed that a tunnel surpassing the Gaza border was found in Israeli territory.

Ya'alon lauded the defense establishment for its efforts in detecting the underground passageway. "We are not disillusioned regarding Hamas's intentions," he added.

He underlined that while Israel does not seek a confrontation with Hamas, the Jewish state will deliver a "very hard hit" to the terrorist group if it attempts to challenge Israel and disrupt the lives of its citizens.

In light of the announcement of the tunnel's discovery on Monday, the defense minister advised Israelis to visit the South in a routine manner during the upcoming spring holiday season.
