Shai Nitzan sworn in as new state attorney replacing Moshe Lador

Shai Nitzan on Monday officially took the reigns of the state's prosecutorial apparatus, replacing Moshe Lador, and becoming the country's eleventh state attorney.
Nitzan will serve a six year term and the ceremony was attended by Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein, Lador, numerous Supreme Court Justices and other top officials.
In his opening speech, Nitzan bemoaned that "there is a large gap today between the image of the prosecution and the reality" and added that since prosecutors "dedicate their lives to public service" he will "work with all of his might to change" that image.
