PMO issues statement rebuking Ehud Barak's critique of Netanyahu

In the new recordings released Sunday, which came from a series of interviews with Barak for the forthcoming Hebrew-language biography about him, the former defense minister criticized Netanyahu .
"Bibi is weak, he doesn't...he doesn't want to take tough steps unless he is forced to do so," said Barak in the recording.
The prime minister's office replied to Barak's critique of Netanyahu, saying in an official statement on Sunday that "the time has come to cease these irresponsible talks regarding the country's security."
The statement went on to highlight the prime minister's efforts to defend Israel, citing his handling of the Israel's security, which he approached "responsibly and aggressively for the good of Israel and its citizens, "without "sticking his head in the sand."
In reference to the recent strike carried out by Israel's air force against Syrian militants whose rocket fire had landed in Israeli territory, the statement lauded the prime minister's ability to "point to dangers and threats for what they are," and "act with determination and decisiveness."
The statement also referenced Netanyahu's many past snap-decisions, including many that remain classified and outside the public eye.
