New Web standard to benefit the disabled

The Standards Institution of Israel published new guidelines for Web content accessibility on Wednesday, with the aim of helping people with disabilities access Internet sites.
The standard targets a broad range of people with disabilities such as blindness and visual impairments, deafness and hearing difficulties, learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, limited movement, speech disabilities, and photosensitivity, as well as combinations of all these handicaps.
The institution’s solutions include textual descriptions of graphic elements, subtitles and audio content, and the option of enlarging text.
