Economics C'tee approves Erdan initiative to ban type of fireworks used by rioters

The Knesset Economics Committee has approved Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan's initiative to ban the importing of the type of fireworks that Palestinian rioters use during public disturbances.

"This is another initiative among others that I am leading to fight terrorism in Jerusalem specifically and in Israel in general. The Palestinians fire these fireworks directly at security forces which risks their lives," Erdan said, adding that he has also worked to change the open fire rules to allow security forces to strike rioters who use the fireworks during disturbances.
