Hotel industry to get boost

The Tourism Ministry has approved financial assistance for the construction of more guest rooms, and the renovation of old hotels and inns.

The Tourism Ministry's investments committee has approved financial aid of NIS 18 million to 11 projects in and around Jerusalem. The total financial investment in these projects is NIS 90m. and the committee's decision is expected to be examined and approved within a few weeks by the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry's Investments Center. According to the Tourism Ministry, the committee has approved financial aid for the construction of more guest rooms, renovating old hotels and inns, and upgrading existing rooms. The 11 chosen projects are the Hotel Prima and Hotel Solomon in Jerusalem, as well as a small boutique hotel in the capital's Baka neighborhood; Hotel Har Cana'an in Safed; the guest houses in Kibbutz Kfar Blum and Kibbutz Lavi; Hagoshrim Hotel in Kibbutz Hagoshrim; Kfar Giladi Hotel in Kfar Giladi; Hotel Galei Yam in Ashdod and Vered Hagalil Hotel in Korazim Village.
