Delta Airlines opens Tel Aviv office

Delta, which stopped flying the Tel Aviv route in 2001 with outbreak of the Intifada, recently filed for bankruptcy and unveiled a plan to cut around 9,000 jobs in an effort to regain profitability within two years.

Atlanta-based Delta Airlines said Monday it has opened an office in Tel Aviv ahead of its planned resumption of daily flights to Tel Aviv scheduled on March 28. Esty Herskowicz, a Delta employee in Israel for the past 14 years, will serve as director of sales in Israel, with Ness Aviation its general sales agency.
