The icons, on display from Wednesday, are from a group of 16 extremely fragile works from Kyiv's Bohdan andVarvara Khanenko Museum that were secretly evacuated to be safeguarded by the Paris museum
The stele was discovered in fragments in 1868 roughly 15 miles east of the Dead Sea and currently resides in the Louvre museum in Paris.
