Israeli Shahar Pe'er (17) went through to the third round of the Australian Open Wednesday after beating 17-year-old Aussie Jessica Moore 6-0, 7-5 in the second round. Pe'er will meet Russian Elena Dementieva in the next round. Meanwhile, Israel's only representative in the men's contest, Dudi Sela, was ousted from the tournament by the towering (6 ft 10 in) Croatian Ivo Karlovic (22) 7-6, 4-6, 3-6, 1-6. After winnning the first set, Sela (66) stayed close to his opponent but was eventually ousted in the same stage as last year's contest. Israelis Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich won their first round match in the doubles tournament against Russian duo Dmitry TURSUNOV and Igor Kunizin 7-5, 6-3.
