MSL Softball: CleanTech sets up classic finals match up with RiseHi

The streaking CleanTech Warriors pummeled Table-to-Table 21-5 at Gezer on Sunday to make the modified softball league finals, setting the stage for a classic dual with perennial powerhouse RiseHi. The hot CleanTech bats came out smoking in the first, scoring five off TT ace Marc Bodner. TT scored three in the bottom of the third to crawl back to within 6-4 but a monster two-run blast to center by CleanTech slugger Jack Jacobovitch gave CW all the breathing room it would need. Pitcher Meir Goldberg silenced the dangerous TT bats with his best performance of the season and CW piled on 12 more runs in the final two innings. Joe Federman and Avi Dzik led the charge for Cleantech. Federman went 5-for-6 at the plate and Dzik went 4-for-5 with two triples and five runs scored. Jacobovitch also had two doubles and collected three RBI's for a balanced CleanTech offense in which every player recorded at least one run, one hit and one RBI. "This is what we've worked for all season," CleanTech manager Aron Heller said. "It's been a dream season. "Now we've just gotta close the deal." CleanTech will have its work cut out for it in the finals against a defending champion RiseHi team that has won 14 of its 15 games this season. RiseHi qualified for the final in dramatic fashion, with a two-run walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh.
