High school flag football spring league kicks off

The league has officially been named "The Yosef Goodman High School AFI League."

Following a month-long break, the high school American Football in Israel league kicked off its first spring season last week, with a record nine teams. The league has officially been named "The Yosef Goodman High School AFI League," in memory of the national team player and Pizzeria Efrat captain who was tragically killed in an IDF paratrooper training accident last month. Tover'z Boyz 32, Derech Hateva 8 In what was anticipated to be a close game, Tover'z Boyz scored 32 unanswered first-half points, and pulled some of their starters for the rest of the game. Daveed Abell led the way, returning two interceptions for touchdowns. Dani Laufer ran back a third INT for a score. Captain Sammy Tover led the "D" with four sacks. On offense, Laufer played quarterback and hooked up with wide receiver Abell for two touchdowns. Levine Family Chasmo Jaguars 34,Goldstein & Berger Ltd. 0 The veteran Jags showed little mercy in welcoming the newly-formed Goldstein and Berger Ltd. squad into the league. Quarterback Yoni Schwartz threw four touchdown passes, two to Avi Etiinger and two to Avionam Berstein. On defense, Ike Levine had two interceptions and Zvi Marcus recorded two sacks.
