Police in Eau Claire, Wisconsin arrived at a theft scene to find a nude man, his karate-practicing mom and their dog stealing cornbread muffin mix in a bizarre incident at a local Walmart.
Officers who arrived on the scene were told that Lisa Smith entered the Walmart with her unleashed dog “Bo,” according to a statement on the department’s Facebook page. Smith began to tear items off displays and put them in her cart, while her dog ran around to various customers.
When asked to leave the store, Smith went outside and started doing karate moves in the parking lot. When she was arrested, she fought with officers and tried to kick out a window on a police car. Meanwhile, Bo grabbed a box of Jiffy Cornbread Muffin Mix and headed out of the store.
At the same time, Benny Vann, Smith’s son, went to the back of the store and stripped off his clothing, exposing himself to other customers. He grabbed new clothing off the racks, but didn’t pay for them.
When approached by officers, Vann tried to run over one of them with his scooter. Officers physically stopped the scooter and arrested Vann.
Smith faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and misdemeanor bail jumping. Her son was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior, disorderly conduct and retail theft.
Bo was not charged, but police “issued him a warning for the theft,” according to the statement.
