Toilet paper serves various functions, from comforting our noses to being a crucial necessity in the restroom. However, it turns out that it can also be used for something unexpected – purifying the air and neutralizing foul odors in the refrigerator.

According to cleaning guru @smartfoxlifehacks, toilet paper can neutralize moisture and acids, contributing to unpleasant smells. She suggests placing a roll in the freezer and the refrigerator, positioning them away from food items to ensure adequate air purification. It's worth noting that she advises against reusing the frozen roll in the restroom.

Some might question the effectiveness of this method, but even the reputable website House Digest has endorsed the idea. The website explained that toilet paper's high absorbency allows it to soak up moisture and foul-smelling particles that linger in the fridge.

However, House Digest emphasized the importance of using a clean and fresh toilet paper roll, emphasizing that rolls in the restroom may have already absorbed undesirable particles.

While conventional odor absorbers are available in stores, alternative solutions for combating fridge odors have been shared online. These include using activated charcoal, vanilla, coffee grounds, lemon, and oat bran. Additionally, one TikToker discovered that the source of the stench might not be mysterious spills or spoiled food but rather the drip tray" at the back of the fridge, which collects leaked liquids.
