Hanukka in Hawaii: Ivanka Trump and family light candles in paradise

The next "First Family" celebrates the Jewish festival of lights.

As Jews around the world this weekend celebrated the beginning of Hanukka, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner along with their three children made sure to take part in holiday festivities before taking to social media.
In a photograph posted to Trump's Twitter account on Sunday night, the family of five is seen smiling in their pajamas in Hawaii alongside a handful of menorahs each laden with one candle for the first night of the eight-day Jewish festival of lights.
"This year is one of the rare and special occasions where Hanukkah and Christmas coincide. Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah! #happyholidays," she wrote in a caption to the image.

Over the weekend, her father, US President-elect Donal Trump also posted a Hannuka greeting to social media.

"Happy #Hannukah," he wrote in a post with an image of a menorah.

Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism before marrying Kushner in 2009.
The businesswoman and former model's conversion came into the spotlight during her father's presidential campaign, and particularly in recent weeks as Israel's highest rabbinical body has been criticized for past refusal to recognize conversions conducted by Orthodox American rabbis, including Rabbi Haskel Lookstein who oversaw her conversion.
Ivanka Trump and Kushner have reportedly been searching recently for a new synagogue to join in Washington, DC as the pair is rumored to take on involved roles in her father's White House administration.
