Police arrested an additional suspect on Wednesday in connection with the February 8 arson attack against the management offices of Beitar Jerusalem. Two suspects had been arrested on Tuesday. One of those suspects and the suspect arrested on Wednesday both admitted they were involved in the arson. The three men, all members of the hardcore Beitar fan group La Familia, are in their 20s and from southern Israel. On Wednesday, the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court extended their remand for several days.Police added that the men admitted that the arson was in response to the soccer team’s hiring of Chechen Muslim players Gabriel Kadiev and Zaur Sadayev, a move that has been the subject of harsh criticism from more extreme members of the Beitar fanbase. One suspect also said that the arson was planned out for some time and was not a spontaneous act.Police said they expect to make more arrests in the case.
