The US announced on Sunday evening that it would begin training Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Presidential Guard in the fall, Israel Radio reported.
The US vowed two months ago to continue financing the training program, headed by Lt.-Gen. Keith Dayton, despite Hamas's takeover of the Gaza Strip.
