Jordan urges int'l effort to push regional peace

Jordan's foreign minister told the EU's top envoy to the Middle East on Tuesday that the international community must do all it can to move Palestinian-Israeli peace forward, the official Petra news agency reported. Petra said Abdul-Ilah al-Khatib and Marc Otte expressed "concern" about Palestinian infighting and stressed that "there should be no time wasted for building peace," according to Petra. The agency said al-Khatib called for "consolidating international efforts to push forward the peace process, take it out of its current crisis and help the different parties to restore confidence to pave the way for a just, lasting and comprehensive peace."
