Iraqi-Israelis permitted to vote in Iraq elections

Israelis of Iraqi descent will be allowed to vote in the upcoming general elections in Iraq, according to the Iraqi authorities responsible for absentee ballots. According to legislation passed in Iraq, anyone that either has Iraqi citizenship, was born in Iraq or is the child of parents born in Iraq, can participate in the vote regardless of what other citizenships they may have, Army Radio reported. General elections in Iraq begin this Thursday. On Monday ballots were already opened at hospitals, army bases and prisons throughout Iraq.
