Hamas: Arrests foiled Fatah car bombing

Hamas security says its police have arrested two men from Fatah in a car filled with explosives. The Hamas statement says the police found batteries and a telephone detonating device in the car. Hamas says the Fatah men were planning to set off a powerful car bomb. The arrests were made late Tuesday near the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. Hamas identified one of the men as a former officer in Palestinian Authroity President Mahmoud Abbas's elite guard. There was no comment from Fatah.
