Abbas's office denies reports of Palestinian poet Darwish's death

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's office on Saturday night denied reports that Mahmoud Darwish, the world's most recognized Palestinian poet has passed away in a US hospital.
The statement added that Darwish was in a serious condition in a Texas hospital.
The Al-Jazeera television network had reported the poet's death earlier in the evening, three days after he underwent open heart surgery.
