The city of Ramat Hasharon is considering a plan to swap all the petrol-powered motorcycles now used by its municipal inspectors for more environmentally friendly electric scooters, reports www.local.co.il. Last week the city tested a pair of the scooters on several of its employees, who reported that they not only created significantly less pollution than standard scooters, but were also quieter and cheaper to maintain. The report said the "warm response" was welcomed by city officials, and Mayor Itzik Rochberger said he was considering changing all the city's vehicles to environmentally friendly ones in stages. No timeframe or cost estimate was reported for the changes.
