Forget about popping Cristal – the new Hip-Hop drink of choice is Bartenura Blue. Yes that Bartenura Blue. The Kosher moscato was name-checked by everyone's favorite Jewish rapper Drake in DJ Khaled's "I'm On One," and it's blue bottle was even shown in the music video as an ingredient in Lil' Wayne's "Purple Drank." Look for the Shabbat-table favorite at 3:08 in this video:
Twi-hards rejoice! Twilight actor Kellan Lutz visited Israel with his mother last week, on a trip sponsored by the US organization Voices for Israel. The heartthrob said he was excited to learn more about Israel, where he said he "met the most kind and loving people I've ever known." Check out Kellan talking about his trip:
It's been a pretty good season of Curb Your Enthusiasm this year. Prettaaaaay, prettaaaay, prettaaaay good, as star Larry David would say. But it's also been a pretty Jewish season, with Larry throwing a fit after finding out his lawyer was only pretending to be Jewish, and debating the merits of eating at a Palestinian chicken restaurant. JTA collected a bunch of clips, including this one where Larry almost joins a minyan:
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Andy Samberg, Seth Rogen and a bunch of non-Jewish comedians and actors put together a Star Wars parody video to raise money for cancer research. Enough said, right?
In a very strange, but true crime story, Robert Giuff, 38 stole a sable-fur shtreimel from Moshe Horowitz in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and tried to sell it to a haberdasher for $350, The New York Post reported this week. The only problem? Horowitz's name and phone number were printed inside the hat, which is actually worth about $2,200.
