Whbee slams decision not to fire Koren over Peki'in riots

Israel Police Chief David Cohen should oust Northern District Commander Cmdr. Shimon Koren forthwith following an inquiry that revealed serious shortcomings in the police's response to riots in the Druse village of Peki'in in late December, MK Majalli Whbee (Kadima) said Thursday. Koren was reprimanded by Chen, along with Galilee District Commander Nir Mariash. "The decision to keep Koren in office after it was shown that failed in his post is a slap in the face of the rule of law and the Druse public," Whbee said. "Only by removing Koren from his office can the police rehabilitate its relationship with the Druse."
