  • A wage increase for teachers of between 5 percent and 8.5% by 2009, possibly as part of a five-year plan to raise salaries as much as 26%, in return for extra work hours, in keeping with a plan suggested by Histadrut Labor Federation chairman Ofer Eini in October.
  • A government promise to invest NIS 1.5 billion over five years in reducing class sizes in the 7th-12th grades from some 36 students per classroom to a hoped-for 30.
  • The payment of salaries lost during more than nine weeks of strike.
  • The restoration of a small part of the secondary school teaching hours cut over the past decade.
