Tourists arrested for alleged diamond theft

A Mexican and two Brazilian tourists were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly stealing a $1 million diamond necklace from a Ramat Gan jewelry shop. An initial investigation revealed that the three suspects stole the expensive piece of jewelry by diverting the shopkeeper's attention. It also revealed that the three stole a briefcase packed with jewelry from an exhibition in Ramat Gan but later disposed of it because of the low value of its contents. The two Brazilians were arrested today at Ben Gurion airport and were being investigated by the Dan District Police.
