Jerusalem police were searching for three Arab men who allegedly tried to kidnap a Jewish teen in Jerusalem on Sunday, police said.
The three suspects are believed to have forced a 14-year-old haredi youth who was walking down the street into their car in the city's Sanhedria neighborhood at midday, and then tried to flee the city, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The teen told police that he managed to jump out of the car at a red light on the outskirts of the city.
He then called his mother to tell her of the attempted kidnapping, and she contacted the police.
Police were searching for the car involved in the alleged foiled abduction, and the youth was brought to Jerusalem police headquarters to give a full report of the incident.
Police said that they were investigating the teen's story.
Israeli security officials have repeatedly warned against just such kidnapping attempts, and several Palestinian terror suspects have been arrested on charges of planning similar crimes.
