State asks High Court to uphold demolition order against terrorist's home

The State Attorney's Office on Sunday requested that the High Court of Justice uphold the demolition order against the home of Husam Taysir Dwayat, the terrorist who perpetrated the first bulldozer rampage in July 2008, despite an appeal against the order from Dwayat's father.
Dwayat went on a rampage on Jerusalem's Jaffa Road, killing three people and wounding dozens before he was shot by a furloughed soldier.
The state cited an assessment by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) that the demolition of terrorists' homes created a deterrent among east Jerusalem residents that could prevent further attacks on Israeli soil.
