Prodi to Beilin: Italy to send observers to border

Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi told Meretz Chairman Yossi Beilin Friday that Italy is offering to place Italian monitors on the Lebanon-Syria border.
During the meeting in Rome, Italy, Prodi said that when Italy assumes control of UNIFIL it will place unarmed forces along the border to monitor Hizbullah arms smuggling.
