NRP-National Union merger negotiations fail

The National Religious Party announced Monday night that the merger negotiations with the National Union Party have failed. The NRP claimed that National Union obstructed agreements of a joint list and of a civil-oriented agenda, according to Army Radio. On the other hand, the National Union accused the NRP of making the negotiations more difficult by insisting its own chairman, MK Zevulun Orlev head the joint party. The two parties have attempted to form a common party that would represent the entire right-wing bloc in the upcoming Knesset elections.
