Netanyahu, Barak meet Noam Schalit, captive's family says no progress

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his adviser Natan Eshel met with Noam Schalit, the father of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, on Wednesday night for the second time since Netanyahu was sworn into office. Noam asked the prime minister to appoint someone to take charge of the Schalit dossier and to make every effort to get Hamas to release a sign of life from his son. The meeting took place in the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem and was followed by talks between Noam and Defense Minister Ehud Barak. The Schalit family said in a statement that there had been no progress on securing Gilad's release.
