Muslim cleric objects to repairing Western Wall stones

The top Muslim cleric in Jerusalem, Mohammed Hussein, on Tuesday said he would object to Israel carrying out repair work on the Western Wall. Hussein said that the wall is a part of the attached Al Aksa mosque, warning that any Israeli action there would be seen as aggression. The rabbi who oversees the wall has said that some of its stones need to be restored. Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz said small stone blocks on top of the wall were sliding apart. He said he hoped to have them fixed in the summer.
