Mofaz proposes change in Ben Gurion Airport security checks

Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz has proposed, in cooperation with the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Airport Authority, to cancel the "nationality" clause as a criterion in security checks for Israelis at Ben Gurion Airport.
Army Radio reported that the initiative was presented in the State's answer to the High Court of Justice on the matter of supposed discrimination against Arabs in the intensity of airport security checks.
The new initiative would instate new criteria as determinants, such as age, profession and army service.
The initiative will be passed on to Attorney General Menahem Mazuz for perusal in the upcoming days.
