MK Yehiel Hazan (Likud
) was under investigation Tuesday by the Knesset’s chairman and sergeant-at-arms for tampering with evidence in the Knesset’s “double-voting†incident.
Hazan was allegedly caught on hidden cameras both entering a storage room where old election equipment was held and leaving with the equipment.
The resulting investigation surrounded the questions of whether equipment left the storage room and if technical changes were made to the election apparatus.
The Likud MK argued during his trial that the double-voting was a result of faulty voting equipment, Army Radio reported. In response to the allegations, Hazan said that he was not given permission to enter the closet and thus did not enter.
