Knesset to vote on bill to disperse Knesset Monday

The Knesset will vote on a bill to disperse the Knesset at 4:00 p.m. Monday, after coalition chairman Gideon Sa'ar announced that he had gathered 30 Likud MKs to sign a petition advancing the vote on the bill, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday. The 30 Likud MKs were joined by 21 Labor MKs and an additional 11 Shas lawmakers, which raised support for the advancement to the 61 votes required. If the Knesset approves the bill before President Moshe Katsav dissolves the Knesset, as per Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Monday request, then the Knesset will dissolve itself.
