A combined team of police and Shin Bet forces arrested a Jenin resident who was suspected of being responsible for distributing millions of dollars to families of Hamas members and suicide bombers.
Army Radio reported Sunday morning that Ahmad Salanta was suspected of operating for the past nine years, working under the guise of an Islamic charity network to pass millions of dollars raised by European Moslem communities into the hands of "shahids'" families.
The donations were nominally distributed to "sick and poor families."
Salanta will be tried before an IDF military court.
