Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) beat out a number of Israeli companies and won a $17 million contract to supply the Spanish military with four Searcher Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), the most advanced drone manufactured by the Israeli defense company. On Tuesday night, at an Independence Day celebration at the Israeli embassy in Madrid, a senior Spanish military officer announced the decision to grant IAI the deal; rejecting competing offers from Israeli firms Elbit and Aeronautics.
