A state judicial forum together with MK Aryeh Eldad (NU/NRP) petitioned the High Court of Justice Wednesday demanding that President Shimon Peres return $320,000 he received as election campaign contributions in the 2005 Labor Party primary.
This was one of the key findings in State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss's report on campaign contributions, which was released in November 2006.
Peres's expenditure exceeded the legal limit of NIS 366,000 per candidate according to the report.
