The main road leading into Jerusalem is blocked until 5 a.m. on Thursday morning.
The road was blocked as part of the project building a bridge that will eventually serve the light train scheduled to begin operating in Jerusalem in 2008.
The lane leading into Jerusalem is closed, and the lane leading out of the city will serve traffic on both lanes.
Police recommends drivers coming in or out of the city to use alternative routes.
