Bus driver gets 5 years for accident that killed 3

A bus driver was sentenced Sunday to five years in prison for causing the deaths of three children in a traffic accident in June 2004. The Tel Aviv District Court sentenced Yosef Shalom to 34 months of actual jail time, and 26 months of time served. In addition, the court revoked Shalom's driver's license. Shalom, 34, was cleared of manslaughter charges in July 2005, but found guilty of negligently causing the deaths of three children and injuring 55 others when he ran a red light in Kfar Yuna and collided with an IDF jeep.
