As if Maccabi Tel Aviv didn’t have enough problems, forward Quincy Miller was sent home from the team’s training camp in Ein Gedi on Monday after bringing his girlfriend to the hotel without permission. The impromptu camp was meant to allow the roster to practice without distractions following eight straight defeats over all competitions which very nearly cost head coach Ainars Bagatskis his job.Bagatskis ultimately remained at the helm, with differences in the club’s fractured ownership regarding the wisdom of parting ways with another coach, which would be the third this sea-son, and the right candidate to take his place resulting in a stalemate. The players were told that the camp will be closed to family, friends and media, and Miller was punished for acting against the club’s instructions. Maccabi hasn’t announced whether Miller will be available to face Maccabi Kiryat Gat on Wednesday when the yellowand- blue looks to snap a record five-game losing streak in the BSL.Guard Yogev Ohayon is set to return against Kiryat Gat, while D.J. Seeley could be back in action in the team’s following game against Ironi Nahariya next Wednesday. Andrew Goudelock, who hasn’t played for the team in the BSL for over two months due to injury, is expected back in Israel this week after recovering in the US and should return to the court during May. Meanwhile, BSL teams are busy making final adjustments to their rosters, with Tuesday being the final day teams can sign players.Hapoel Tel Aviv added American LaRon Dendy to its roster on Monday.Hapoel received further good news when Adrian Banks finally became an Israeli citizen on Monday, meaning he will be able to play as one of the two local players that need to be on the floor during a game rather than as a foreigner. Hapoel’s roster has undergone several changes over recent weeks, with Richard Howell leaving for Hapoel Jerusalem and Darrell Williams joining Bnei Herzliya. After losing Will Graves for the season with a broken wrist, Maccabi Haifa is hoping to sign Rashaun Freeman before Tuesday’s deadline.
