Last week, the Ga’ash Golf Club held a nine-hole Twilight Tournament to celebrate the opening of its newly renovated 7th green.
A full field of 60 golfers enjoyed the late afternoon cooler weather and played an individual Stableford format event.
The participants were divided into two divisions, the A Division being 0-12 handicap and the B Division from 13 upwards.
The A Division was won by Amos Aharoni, with 20 Stableford points, followed by Inon Zadok. In the B Division, Ilan Mendelsohn, Yoav Bruk, Elisha Hillel and Solly Dreman all topped the leaderboard with 19 Stableford points, with Mendelsohn taking first place on the count-back, followed by Bruk.
Nearest-to-the-pin prizes, sponsored by the Greenfield at Ga’ash restaurant, went to Ophra Dagan. At the award ceremony, the CEO of Cigar magazine, Shmulik Tal, presented the prizes and provided the players with cigars and wine from the Rothschild winery. Ga’ash golfers are now looking forward to next week’s Monthly Medal.
In other Ga’ash news, it took 20 years of golfing, but Yoram Arbel finally recorded his first hole-in-one over the weekend. Playing with Meier Sheni, Yosi Kuperstein and Doron Ben Ami, Yoram holed out the par-3 9th hole, playing at 160 meters.
