Police officers on a routine patrol in the Shfela area in central Israel pulled over a private Toyota Corolla on Monday, only to find the compact car loaded with 16 children.
The kids, aged five to ten, were crammed into all parts of the car, including the floors near the driver's seat.
The 40 year-old driver's job is to drive school-kids from their various schools back home. On Monday, his van broke down, prompting the Lod resident to drive the students in his private, compact car, which is supposed to seat a maximum of five people.
The driver was detained for questioning and will face a hearing to see if he will lose his license.
