The Hebrew daily Israel Hayom on Wednesday signed an endorsement agreement with judo star Peter Paltchik.
In a ceremony that was held at the Israel Hayom headquarters, the paper agreed to endorse and sponsor Paltchik, who is currently training for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
In 2018, Paltchik brought home several medals for the Jewish state, including taking the victory in the up to 100 kilo category at The Hague Grand Prix.
He also won a gold medal at the Grand Prix Tbilisi, Georgia and at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which led to Israel’s national anthem, Hatikvah, being played for the first time at a Gulf State sporting contest.
“Israel Hayom is proud to support Peter Paltchik, who brings great pride to the State of Israel and Israeli sports,” said Israel Hayom Editor-in-Chief Boaz Bismuth. “We will stand by Paltchik until he stands on the winning stand in Tokyo 2020 with the gold medal. Paltchik is a symbol of perseverance and industriousness and we believe in him.”
Paltchik said he is honored to represent Israel everywhere he goes and “bring great honor to Israel.”
