‘Fauda’ to tackle Hamas tunnels in Season 3

Yes reveals sneak peak of upcoming slate of programming for 2019

The much-anticipated third season of Fauda will head into Gaza and explore the tunnels used by Hamas for both smuggling and attacking Israel.
In a sneak peek of the upcoming season – which began filming earlier this month – Yes revealed new details to reporters at a media event unveiling its 2019 programming.
“Are you ready to enter the most crowded, dangerous and explosive place in the Middle East?” the teaser asked. The short clip shows co-creator Lior Raz’s character, Doron, hopping out of a truck. “Welcome to Gaza,” he is told, before the scene cuts to a dark, underground tunnel.
Yes did not provide a premiere date for the third season, though it is slated to air sometime later this year and contain 12 episodes. The show will premiere on Yes in Israel before it lands on Netflix, which picked up the series in 2016 and turned it into an international sensation.
The network said the upcoming season of Fauda will take its characters deep into Gaza to “harm the Hamas infrastructure,” and to get to “the head of the Hamas military wing in the Strip.” To do so, Doron will go undercover as a boxing coach in Hebron to become acquainted with a senior Hamas figure living there. Actress and singer Marina Maximillian will join the upcoming season, playing the head of the Shin Bet’s Gaza desk.
Yes also unveiled information about its full slate of upcoming programming for 2019, including more than a dozen original productions. Those include The Dubbed, a crime drama starring Amos Tamam (Srugim, The Wedding Plan, Juda) and Ania Bukstein (Game of Thrones, False Flag) and Just for Today, a drama from Nir Bergman about a halfway house for released prisoners, which is competing at the Series Mania festival next week.
Last year, the Yes series On the Spectrum took home the top prize at Series Mania.
Yes also said it is producing a third season of its show Hashoter Hatov/The Good Cop, which was both picked up by Netflix last year and given a remake starring Tony Danza and Josh Groban. It is also creating a second season for the series Ta’agad/Charlie Golf One, the show about combat medics which is slated to be remade in the US by CBS as 68 Whiskey.
