A Swiss Foreign Ministry spokesman said Monday that his country was interested in initiating renewed negotiations over Iran's nuclear program.
The proposal followed a meeting between the Swiss president and the head of the team currently negotiating over Iran's nuclear development.
Following the Swiss proposal, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Muhammad Ali Hosseini said, "if the proposal guarantees Iran's right to nuclear development we will consider it."
