Solana says there may soon be more contacts with Iran

More negotiations with Iran may be conducted soon to try to resolve the nuclear standoff with the West, European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana said on Friday. "There may be some contacts to follow - [like] some of the contacts we had during the summer of my deputy with his [Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili] deputy to recuperate contacts - soon," Solana told Reuters. Solana, who was speaking in Nice prior to an EU-Russia summit, said any such meeting could lead further talks between himself and Jalili "if that produces sufficient clarification."
