McCain says Iran biggest threat to Israel since Jewish statehood

Republican presidential nominee John McCain said Wednesday overnight that if Iran would acquire nuclear weapons it would be the biggest threat to Israel since the Jewish state was born, Israel Radio reported.
McCain made the statement in a campaign speech in Pennsylvania.
He said, however, that he believed the standoff with the Islamic Republic could be resolved through diplomacy and economic pressure.
