UN to probe killing of former Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday said he will soon establish an independent investigation into the killing of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Moon said Bhutto's killing shocked the world but did not give details on the mandate of the probe after meeting Pakistan's president. Bhutto died in a gun and suicide bomb attack on December 27, 2007 as she left a campaign rally. The government at the time blamed a Pakistani militant commander with reported links to al-Qaida.
