A cargo train slammed into another in northern Italy early Wednesday, killing two people, state railway company Ferrovie dello Stato said.
The accident happened shortly before 6 a.m. as the second cargo train was stopped at a red light on the border with Italy's Trentino and Veneto regions, Ferrovie dello Stato said.
The victims were the first train's two drivers, the railway company said.
The accident blocked the line and disrupted traffic, and a bus service was set up for commuters between the cities of Verona and Trento, and between Verona and Bolzano, Ferrovie dello Stato said.
