A strong earthquake has shaken Colombia's capital, sending residents running to the streets and knocking over furniture in buildings.
The 5.6-magnitude quake started on Saturday afternoon and lasted for 40 seconds, according to the US Geological Survey.
Many people have fled buildings fearing they could collapse and are waiting in the streets of Bogota. There were no immediate reports of deaths or major damages.
The US Geological Survey says the quake was centered about 33 miles (54 kilometers) southeast of Bogota.
